there and back...jigity jig

This afternoon I returned from a much needed vacation. My wife and I went to New Orleans and Biloxi MS. An unusual vacation to say the least. We are glad to be home and nothing bad happened but some disturbing things about vacations come to me. I wonder if I just took a week off of work I might have a better time, don't get me wrong, I had a good time and being with Shari is always fun but....New Orleans is pretty weird.
Bourbon St was cool sort of but was more about sex than music...more about money than Jazz. In fact I found only a small amount of Jazz and music there. It's more like a city near an Army base during WWII. The aquarium in NO was cool but I have to wonder why parents bring their very small children to NO at all. I suppose the only G rated place in NO would be the aquarium but being so small few would have any memory at all of the time they spent there. Some fish were large and real. At feeding time which was cool they not only didn't pay any attention to the fish all they to want to do is kick me in the back. One lady after her daughter kicked me repeatedly took her out, looked at me and said she is only one year old. Why would parents take a one year baby on vacation anyway. What does a one year old need a vacation from? When the parents get home they will need a vacation from their vacation.

Biloxi...very interesting vacation place but I have to wonder how it ever got to be a water/beach vacation place. The water is dark brown and opaque...dirty with things floating in it. Nasty to say the least. The weird thing is the beach is beautiful. Put some transparent blue water near there and you have got something. Of course the wind blowing across (east to west) the beach at 80 MPH took some getting used to but the people are nice. If water and beaches are something you might like try ST Thomas V.I. well more later......

  1. I'm glad you sort of had a good time at least. Sorry the water didn't turn out to be clear or blue or anything pretty at all. Sounds more like a lake or creek.
